Specially designed apparatus from around the region gathered at Lineboro on Tuesday night as part of a regional mass casualty training and awareness program, hosted by the department. The class, one in a series of classes that will culminate in a full-scale exercise in December, offered members of the fire and EMS service a chance to see the unique and specialized equipment that is designed to be used during a mass casualty event. Participants in the training, including nearly 30 EMT students, were able to see the equipment up close, and ask questions of the operators who are most familiar with the equipment. Equipment was on display from Carroll, York, and Baltimore Counties, and included two mobile communications vehicles, two medical care support units, and a technical decontamination unit.
