On Monday January 8th at 10:45 am, Engine 71 was alerted to assist Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Company with a house fire with rescue in the 2400 block of Black Rock Road. Units arrived with fire showing and two occupants trapped. A tanker task force and 2nd alarm were requested bringing Tanker 7 and Engine 72 to the scene. Engine 71 was the third arriving engine and conducted a primary search along with assisting with fire attack and overhaul. Unfortunately 2 occupants succumbed to their injuries, while a third person was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Crews remained on scene for over 3 hours.
