Agricultural Roadway Awareness

By Administrator Brian Long
April 25, 2019

As Spring weather begins to warm up, many may notice the increased presence of farm machinery traveling down the roads in Lineboro and surrounding communities. Farmers are in the midst of field preparation for the quickly approaching harvest season.

Please be mindful that tractors and other farm equipment travel below the posted speed limits and are larger than most lanes. We encourage all motorists to SLOW DOWN when they approach agricultural equipment on the road. Remember to maintain a large distance of visibility, enough space between your vehicle and the tractor, and continue to obey all traffic laws. Only pass when it is safe to do so for all parties.

In the coming months, plan to leave early, have patience, and share the road. Farmers have an important job as well and they are on the roads to move from field to field so they can continue their work.
