Temperatures are forecasted to be in the upper 90's, with the heat index being even hotter. Know the signs related to heat illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke. DO NOT hesitate to call 911 if emergency services are needed. Below are some tips to remember during the hot temperatures.
Use extreme caution while outdoors or in areas that are not cooled
Stay hydrated throughout the day along with taking more frequent breaks if involved in physically demanding tasks
DO NOT leave kids or pets inside cars unattended, no matter how long you may be away
Plan accordingly; if exercising or working outdoors, try to do so during cooler parts of the day such as the morning or evening
ANYONE is susceptible to heat related illnesses, especially young kids and the elderly
Take responsibility to watch and check on others in the community, as they may not be able to reach out for help |
